A new development on my 96 A6...if i lock my doors, which sets the alarm, it will go off for no reason and will not shut off until I unlock the doors. I got a call from a hotel I was staying at that the alarm had been going off for two hours while I was at a wedding. Any ideas what might be wrong with the alarm, and is ther a way to disable to alarm so i can lock the doors and leave it off?

Get ahold of a vag-com and you can answer both of your posts questions. The only way to know why the airbag light is on is to scan it. As for the alarm, try manually locking the doors from the passenger side by pressing down the drivers side door stick thing. Also vag-coming it will tell you why it is going off. You could also disconnect the alarm siren as a temp fix.
