Default 97 A6 Avant strut replacement

I am embarking on replacement of the front struts on my 97 Avant and have several questions...

Can someone provide a link to a good parts diagram and a listing of a step by step procedure for replacement?

In searching for parts (autopartsonline and carstuff) the inserts, mounts & bearings are listed and clear. They also list as separate items a dust sleeve, a boot kit (that also includes a bumper) and a bellows (which also includes abumper). What is the difference between the boot, the dust sleeve and the bellows? Which one(s) are required to complete the job right?

Is it typically necessary to replace the bearing also?

Is a realignment of the suspension required after replacinf the strut?

Does anyone have experience with autopartsonline or carstuff for parts supply? Any other favorites or recommendations?

Any other insight or recommendations are apprciated.

Great site - thanks for input.

Jay

very easy project. Make sure you get strut boots and any other goodies you need. Realigning afterward is never a bad idea.
