Wondering what is holding the air bag in place is it Torx, allen, or a flat screw any help would be nice.

 

My 1998 A6 wagon requires a long torx T30 tool. The commonly available tools may be too short. Try a NAPA store for a tool with several sizes of long torx, which fold outward to be used.
Disconnect the battery before removing the airbag. You will need the radio code to get your radio out of "SAFE".

Looked there its the wrong steering wheel. mine doesnt have the controls on the wheel. Mine has two long deep holes where you cant see the screws. Thanks for the try tho.
