Symptoms:
- In cooler weather 50 degrees or below, my RPMs begin to jump or flux (200 rpms) while driving up a slight incline (load) almost if i was pressing & letting up on gas peddle. It happens mostly at speeds of 30-50mph trying to get from 4th to 3rd or 5th to 4th gear. It seems that it can't decide to downshift or not, etc.. I am not sure if this is a tranny issue or something else. I will try to attached a video that shows what is happening later. Please note, when its warmer outside all is great no other concerns. I do not and have not received any engine codes or check engine lights when this happens or not. All is clear from the MIL.

1999 Audi A6 2.8, w/ 212,000 miles: Maintenance History:
- Fuel filter has 20,000 miles on it
- Original Coil Pack w/ new wires
- Mass Airflow sensor is clean
- Tranny Flush done about 20k ago - Flush fluid about every 50k
- Timing Belt needs replacement in 20k miles
- New PVC Hose
- New vacuum hoses

 

Who did the transmission fluid flush? I ask because if not done correctly and left under-filled, this might cause some weird issues when it comes to shifting. Primarily because the automatic transmission is essentially powered by the fluids within.

If you or someone you know has access to VAG com, you might be able to pull codes from the TCM and see if there are codes there pertaining to the torque converter. I've seen this before first hand in which an A6 had low fluid and it caused torque converter errors to be present when pulling codes from the TCM - these will not throw MILs.
