A6 2.7T Cold Start issues
My A6 2.7T Quattro started playing up last week. Was running fine. Then came to start next morning and wouldn't start. Turning over fine and firing every so often but dying off.
Determined that I could get it started eventually by constantly starting it up without throttle. Letting it catch and die. Each time it idled a little bit longer. Eventually I could ease the throttle up a bit and fire her up.
Once warm engine was running sweet (albeit the battery took a battering)
However taking 15 minutes to start her and a flat battery is not really good.
I have checked the following
[ul][*]VAG-COM shows nothing in DTC errors[*]No immobiliser errors on display[*]The Lamda/Oxyegn sensors are fine[*]I have checked all vacuums where possible and all look good.[*]I even fitted a new throttle boot hose I had ready whilst doing the checks.[/ul]
I am now waiting for a new MAF which will arrive Monday hopefully.
However if anyone has any other ideas would be very greatful for the input
(I am in the UK and I have NOT used any Tesco or Morrison petrol )
Many thanks in advance
Danny

RE: A6 2.7T Cold Start issues
Problem Sorted.
I spent some time researching on the forums and also concluded that the Coolant Temp Sensor could be a source of the issue.
As I had the MAF out I could easily get to it.
I also discovered that at some stage the sensor had been replaced without the o-ring, and this was the cause of my slow coolant leak.
Anyhow finally got the right MAF today and replaced that and the sensor and put an o-ring in.
She fired up first time
Not sure which was the problem, the MAF or the sensor, but I'm a happy bunny now
Cheers
