A6 2.8L 30V 99 , High Acceleration right after starting it!!!!
Hi, this morning my A6, 2.8L 99 , after turning it on, It accelerated reaching 7000rpm!!!!, and it will never get down to idle??? what could be the problem,
yesterday I've replaced the air filter, does it has to do with it???? any ideas anyone??
what could be the problem? , any help would be really apreciated!!!

check the electrical and vacuum conections around the air filter box, you may have disconected som thing, may be the MAF, if not then there is a big vacuum leak some where, just look carefully

hi, thanks for your answer, im checking it tomorrow right away, also could the problem be the throttle body??? or the accelerator pedal cable???, thanks

given the problems began after you changed your filter, im more inclind to believing that you might have inavetently pulled out a connection dealing with air flow at about that area. also the symptoms would seem to me to be associated with inappropraite increase inair flow. i will doubt acc. pedal or throttle body. lets start with rulling these out first

Problem resolved!!!,
i've taken out the throttle body, and when I dissasembled the intake tube going to the throttle, there was a piece of the elastic band that's part of the flexible tube from the airbox stuck inside the throttle's butterfly, and thus keeping it accelerated because the throttle wings remain a bit open, as soon as I've removed the elastic piece, turn the car on, and boy it was quieter than a funeral, jejejej
my engine was calm again.
