Default A6 advise

New here to the Audi scene and planning on buying a 98-04 A6. Are these cars reliable for the most part? I've done a search but did I not find all my answer's. I just wanted to hear it from you guy's first hand. I'm not too sure on the trim yet. Which trim is best for overall driving? I'm not planning on tricking it out or anything, just need a cruiser. How well would one run say...100,000+ mile's? Any serious engine problem's? Electrical issues? Suspension issues? Anything that will be a constent headache?

All cars have their share of problems, I know, I just need to know what to expect. This will be my extra car but I still need it to last for a while. I just need your knowledge on owning an A6, thanks!

Beemer sucks!!! Need advise on my 3rd Audi: Recently just purchase a 2003 A6 for my son. His first beat up car. Needs work. Lady recently replaced the ECM after rain got in and fried the ECM under the passenger side floor but didn't get it reset or programmed. The car wouldn't go forward ever since. Only in reverse. Any insights?
