I have a 2001 A6 2.7t. There is (was) an antenna attached through the rear window - can anyone tell me if this is for the radio or probably installed for a phone. It was ripped off in a car wash yesterday and is beyond repair. The radio seems to work fine. I was looking for a replacement but can't find anything similar. I will just disconnect it if not needed for the radio.

If you have an Avant it is the radio antenna -- As long as the radio works I wouldn't be concerned..

 

If it's the sedan it was prolly a phone one.

 

if it was connected or sitting on the rear window it was the phone antenna. dont worry about it. you can always buy replacment ones at autozone if it bothers you that much.
