Default A6 driving a bit rough...

My 01 A6 2.7T is driving a bit rough at times. It doesnt seem to ride as smooth as parents Mercedes (Im not comparing) but it just isnt that smooth at all. Feels like the front left of the vechile doesnt want to ride nice and smooth, what could be the cause of it? I feel a small vibration here and there even on smooth roads...Seems I am not having much luck with my Audi lol....

On another note, how much would it cost to fix my MPG readings on the computer? Mine is OBVIOUSLY off.

It can be calibrated with a Vag-Com. Find someone in your area that can let you use their's.

As for the rough ride, could be a control arm. Just guessing though.

I am having a very similar problem. Dude, it could very well be the tires. Some brands/styles simply suck and ride rough or harsh. I bought my 2000 A6 4.2L with Dayton Daytona 245/45/17s and the front driver tire/wheel hums over 20mph, and all tires have some road noise - way too much to deal with for long. Had a local VW dealer check the problem, and they first said I needed a new wheel hub and possibly lower control arm, then hours later said it was the tires...they were "chopped", which is meaningless to me. They look fine, front and back, but I would never have purchased them if I had choice.

Am probably going to spring for some new Kumhos (255/40/17s). AA/420 tread and I've had excellent results on former Acura.Smooth, comfortable ride, with nice road handling and last a long long time.

Good luck!

I agree...I have KUMHO 255 45 17's and they are quiet/ride nice (firm) and have excellent grip. Much better than the Pirrellis I had on prior.
