A6 Quattro 3.0 V6 - transmission problems

I got the Check Engine light on a cupple of days ago , arond the same time theees things starded happening , i have been reading and it seams to me that this could be a --Torque converter-- Starting to fail

the first time ever the ligth came on was when Thing Number 2 Happend

Number 1-flooring the car from first gear using the tiptronic - in second gear at 2600-3000rpm i get a small (lag) a smooth lag, just not accelerating like usuall

Number 2- some times when stopping the car from maby 40mph (60km) or any speed, in drive -D- at, and when you come to a stop the RPM start flikker down to maby 400-RPM like the car is going to Stall , but then the RPM return to normal

Number 3- Also only happening some times when i put the car into Nutal -N- The RPM start to Bouch maby from 600 - 1000 RPM and if i press the acceleration pedal a little bit , it seems to go away

-just to know the gear chancing is wherry jerky sometimes

Go to specialized Audi independent garage to change the tranny fluid + filter if you didn't have it changed and the car is 8 years old or 60-80k miles. GF the tranny maker recommends that to prolong the tranny life. Ask the garage to scan your car w/VAG-COM which is best tool to find out how healthy your car is.

Maybe a tranny service will get rid of the above.

The question is general repair garage or garage specialized in Audi or Audi dealer. I suspect if general garage they didn't use same procedure & specific fluid required. It takes more than 2 hrs to perform A6 tranny svc.

.. yeas i see but still this started happening when i got i back from them , the cleaning of the transmission took a long time , they are not expterts at audi but they are experts at Mercs

If everything started after the transmission "service" was done - there is the answer - the "service" was not performed as required.

Getting the car back might not do anything good; take it to an Audi shop that has experience with transmissions (most shops stay shy of even touching the transmissions).

What ATF was the one used at the Merc shop?

But if there are permanent damages - will the shop cover them?

Bottom line - get familiarity with problem - into details - read the info provided on the forum - numerous long threads.

I am Taking the car to the Audi Dealer tomorrow and they are going to chek this out , if they say anything that may lead to what ther merc shop did then i will talk to them , since i payed the merc shop under the table , there are no records of the car ever being there but i doubt it will be a problem since they are easy to deal with

Undertable? Maybe you want to save money and they go cut corners.
