A6 tire question
Greetings:
Just joined the forum...
Have a 2001 2.7T and I wonder what the forum's experience is with the standard Continental tires... frankly they are beginning to worry me. In the three years I've had the car I've had to replace three tires, not for treadwear. Two of the three had slow leaks which turned out to be bubbles on the sidewall on the chassis side where they are hard to spot. The other one the dealer showed when it was up on the lift for inspection was a partial tread delamination that was also on the chassis side of the tire. That especially could have been ugly. I live in NYC so it's not like I can inspect the tires in my garage.
I'm thinking of springing for a set of non-conti tires and wonder if there are any recommendations? I drive the car on urban streets and highways, about an even mix. I don't go much over 80mph, and not often at that. Dry/wet performance would be more important to me than traction in snow.
Thanks,
Denton

RE: A6 tire question
I have these on my car:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ce+T%2FA+KDW+2
They are amazing in the dry and better in the wet. I cannot say enough good things about this tire. I have about 10K miles on them now and they are wearing great.
If you need a set of rims for snow tires let me know. I have a set of S-4 rims for sale right now and will practically give them away, you're biggest cost would be shipping.
