I just bought a 2004 A6 2.7 type S. I also have an A4 1.8 T.

Ok here's my question. On the A4 when you flick the turn signal either up or down the turn signal blinks 3 times. My A6 doesn't do this. Is this normal for the 04 A6?

One more thing is my A6 doesn't auto lock the doors when driving and is this normal?

Not sure what you mean, when u say the turn signal blinks three times.
The A6 not locking when driving is normal, but you can change that with vag.

 

what are you talking about with the signals?
My doors lock automtically but like he said you can change that with VAG COM.

 

On my 05 4.2, which is a C6, the doors automatically lock at 11 mph. In addition, if I just touch my blinker stalk the blinker will blink 3 times as a lane changing feature. I don't know if the C5s had the same features.

 

Not sure our cars have that feature. I have an 01 2.7T that does not do it. Although, on my 06 M5 if you push the lever up or down "gently" they will blink three times as you described.

I have a 2001 2.8 and it use to do this. But one day it just stopped doing it. Not exactly sure how to get it back.

 

Yes locks are normal like many have said must VAG it. The reason that the A4's received the b6 and b7 face lifts while the A6 only got the c6 lift. Sadly the C6 is 05+ so you just missed it. My b6 A4 does the lane change but not my a6 also.

 

Gigi in the newer audis (b6 for A4s C6 for A6) if you push on the turn signal lightly it will blink 3 times as designed for lane changing on the highway. Its one of those hidden features that when you find youll drive off of the road in amazement at what you just found and didnt know about after owning the car for sometime.
