Default ABS Module Repair

Due to ABS light and parking brake malfunction errors popping up pretty regularly I finally relented and took the car to be diagnosed. The dreaded G201 code came up and after checking all the wheel sensors it appears that the ABS Module needs replacing. After serching around for a used one without success I finally found a company that will rebuild it for around $200 plus another $200-$300 for taking it off and putting it back on from my mechanic.

Before I go through with this rebuild has anyone had any experience with having ABS modules rebuilt? Also, is the car safe to drive without the module?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and assistance.

Daryl

I had good luck with Modulemasters, although they found nothing wrong. When re-installed, it worked perfectly. It should not take that long to remove and re-install the ABS unit. And you can drive the vehicle with it out.
