After the TB replacement - V7 fan

2003 A6 2.7 Tip. (110 km)

Had the timing belt replaced over the weekend. The old belt was quite extended – significant slack was the result – scary situation. Besides the length – the old belt looked perfectly.
Lost some ATF – had to top it up. That could be the case always and how many shops will bother to handle the ATF level?

After the repairs took closer look on the electrical fans – front fan v177 and the fan behind the radiator V7.
Do not see the V7 engaging – (even when V177 is active).
Blades move freely.
The car temperature is at 90 C steady – no overheating observed.
Bentley misses a description of fans’ work and engagement. Some sources point that both fans engage simultaneously.
If the front (V177) fan engages – does it mean the Fan Control Module (FCM) is ok?
AWorld has an article for ARoad Fan Control Module replacement – following the article I applied 12V directly to the fan – the middle connector (out of 3) on the console by the PS reservoir.
The fan is not moving, but it could be due to the fact that the current goes first to FCM.
Any suggestions – what do you observe in regards of V7 work?
Any definitive diagnostics before open the front end again?

I'm wondering if a malfunctioning cooling system would trow DTC?

- like failed radiator fan?

My Bentley states that the FCM on 2002-2004 models is not on the rail at fron lower drivers side, but "in front of engine compartment attached to fan".

Would that mean the FCM is downstream of the connector by the PS tank?
Direct current to the connector might not work to move the fan in that case!
