Well I know that aftermarket warrantys are usually not worth the time or effort, BUT, with my new-used 2000 A-6 I thought it would be a wise investment.

First, I went with USFidelis because they are the most known company out there, so I figure they have the least chance of closeing shop and leaving me high and dry, unlike alot of these other smaller warranty places.

Second, with a tranny repair/rebuild alone costing upwards of 4k, I thought that the price I paid was reasonable.

What did I go with? Well I might change this depending on your opinions here, but I got a 5 yr 100k mile drivetrain warranty.

Now this covers all internal lubricated parts as for the tans and engine including the entire A/C system (except for hoses) and the starter and alternator. This sucker costed me $1950 payable in small monthly interest free payments.

Now, the other option they offered me was the "Gold" protection which covers said above PLUS all sensors and electronics of the car as well as control arms and steering components. The price for that is $3900.

I've already bought the smaller warranty, but do you guys think it is worth me getting the 4k warranty?

BTW, I found a listing of the exact parts that are covered by the gold and the silver (which is what I bought) plans. It looks like the parts that are covered by the gold plan would suite the typical Audi "breakdowns" a little better. Tell me what you think!

so if my car already has problems they will not treat it? thats so dumb but if gold is not that much more for a monthly basis ill go for it does seem more fited for audi and you will get your moneys worth

 

I asked the guy @ Fidelis if he needed to inspect me car, he said no, but he said that I needed to waite 30 days to make a claim so that they know the car was operational. Lol, my tie-rods and control arms need to be changed (somethings loose). I think I can drive it for 30 more days though! That is one of the reasons I am considering the gold plan!

If you want piece of mind, sure, why not go for the $4K warranty?

As for US Fidelis as a company, I think that they're making a turn for the better. There's alot of talk about them scamming people, but I think it's only right to give them a chance and experience their service for yourself.

 

That doesn't sound bad Just make sure you dump half the trany fluid out in about a year and fry that sucker up good.
How does the T-belt replacement work. Do they cover the replacement before or after it breaks? Does Audi accept Fidelis?

 

US Fidelis = no good, they get an F from the Better Business Bureau which is quite impressively bad (the lowest rating that they give out).

Just google "us fidelis" and the third result is a site explaining how they are a rip off and scam customers. Remember to do your research! (much quicker is to search for "us fidelis review") There are, of course, plenty of occurrences that are positive, but you still might want to think twice about it.

 

60 minutes recently did a story on US Fidelis and they are apparently bad news. I would stay away and look for another company. I went with a warranty through the AAA.
