Default APR users curious about performance

I know that when I got my A4 chipped it had like no power off the line and then all of a sudden the turbo would start to spool and then it would just fly. Of course the little 4 cyl. was going to have a lot of turbo lag. I do notice that the turbos spool at a lower RPM in the 2.7t engine, but after you get chipped did you notice this big turbo lag? Or does the tuning make up for it and make a smooth transition into the the turbos kicking on? I hope this question makes sense! lol

I have the Revo Software on my A6 2.7T
When it was stock i could feel the turbos kick in at around 2,500. Now though after the Revo, I get the full spool at around 3000. Difference now though is when i hit 3000 revs the car literally makes a loud bang as the torque kicks in (no joke). I am running 25lbs of boost though.

Interesting. I have the GIAC chip and if I'm cruising at under 3000 rpm there is a lag, but then the turbos kick in and by 3500 rpm they are pulling very hard right up to 6000 rpm. I guess that if I just run it hard and keep the rpmover the 3500-4000 rangethen there is no lag. No bangs, and I'm sure my clutch can handle it now, but I worry about the rest of the drivetrain.

25 psi... he must be running a MBC, but 25 lbs is really stupid to run on the stock turbos, I wouldn't expect them to live much longer.

eclimax13, do you have a full exhaust or do you just have the DPs?

alias....just the apr dp's...thats where the power comes from..u get rid of those two front cats...or all four if you want...and with a little work it can be adapter to the stock catback....and itll save turbos by keeping them cooler as well as getting better gas mileage....plus if you get the apr software...there is a free upgrade to remove the rear o2's so u wont get a cel...25psi on k03's is not only suicide...its not beneficial since all ull be doing is blowing hot air....
