Hello everyone,

Just has I am about to get my new A6 2004 sline at the garage this morning that I learned about the April recall, for those that are not aware yet all 2001-2004 a6 equipped with the 2.7, 2.8 or 3.0 and 01 to 05 allroads have a deffect with the nipple of rollover valve that might crack and a fuel leak may result to a fire...

so will have to go to the dealer to get it reinforced or replaced at no cost. So I am wondering if someone allready went to the dealership to take care of the problem?? how long did you have to wait?

Its my 4th audi and i just cant believe that its allready getting me in trouble

How do you find out about these recalls ... I am the cars 2nd owner so I think that the original owner is getting all the letters or something??

could I get my information updated by calling audi of america or something??

 

yes the best is to call audi usa so they have your infos, regarding this particular one I just googled recall for a6 and got it that way. but so far it seems nobody went to audi yet to get it fixed/

 

yea i think its one of those things that once u start smelling gas you get it checked out ... a guy on here a month or so ago had this problem with his a6 ... unfortunately i think he took it in b4 they came out with the free fix

 

Could prob get your money back or get credit if it was from the audi dealership.

I am checking out what we need to get info about recalls tomorrow at the dealership

 

i bought mine from the dealer so they should automatically get them by mail unless u got it from a private seller, than the old one is getting the mail lol

 

I registered my A6 (as the second owner) and I received the recall last week. "To prevent or repair cracking at the nipple, we will reinforce the nipple on the rollover valve."

I'm glad the recall was for the car and not for my wife.

 

If you take your car for maintenance at a dealership you will automatically get the recall notices.

 

what about a recall on those damn clusters?!!!
