Audi A6

I'm considering buying a 2006 A6, and would like to know what is considered high mileage on this car. Is it worth paying a premium for one with lower mileage, 20k - 30k miles, or should I save the money and buy one with 45k - 50k miles? I've never owned an Audi and don't know what point the cars begin to require serious maintanence.

20-50K ia all the same go for the 50K and save your money. Spend part of the savings on a kick ass warranty and put the rest away.
I would haggle with them, cars are not moving these days.

Figure 12-15k miles per year average, so including 2006 thats 48-60k being 'normal'. If you find one with 20-30k, you have to worry about sludge and corrosion from not being driven, one with more means your closer to the required TB and water pump change... so, as jackmup says, its all the same really.

I agree with Midniteoyl, except I want to point out that the 2006 has a timing chain, not a timing belt. As a result you do not have the impending maintenance problem with a car that has the 48-60K miles discussed in this post.

Doh! I knew that... thanks Kevin :)
