Could any one tell me the difference between the 163(120kw) and 180(132 kw) bhp versions of the 2.5 v6 tdi engines.

e.g. Do both cars have the same VNT turbo charger, VP44 Fuel system or is the 163bhp fuel system different e.g. Bo EDC.

Hey welcome to the forums. You probably won't get much information on this site about TDi engines. They were not offered here in America.

 

IIRC these are quite different engines. The 163 was a development of the old distributor pump 150 TDI that was introduced fairly early in teh life of the last A6. The 180 was the first common rail V6 TDI engine. Having driven both 155 and 180, I can tell you that the 180 feels a whole load faster due to much increased torque.
