Audi a6 2.7t engine swap
I am in the middle of swapping an engine in a 2001 audi a6 2.7t and I got a LOW MILEAGE ENGINE FROM A 2002 A6 2.7T. i HAVE JUST DISCOVERED THaT THERE IS a few differences in the engines, the intake is different and there is no secondary air injection on the 2002, I believe that the intake should swap over easily? but my problem is with the air injection on the 2002 the head has a steel ball in the hole for the air injection and I was wondering if I can just drill that out to make the swap complete? any ideas, anyone had this experience? thanks in advance. I think the standard is to leave the secondary air injection off. IIRC cars with manual transmissions did not have secondary air injection, only cars with auotmatics did. There should be no CEL thrown if you leave it off. At least, that is my understanding.
I don't think I would try drilling out a steel ball from an aluminum head.

I concur, just leave the secondary air injection off if you have a manual. As far as the intake, those can just swap over. The engines are not the same, they changed sometime during the 2001 production causing a 2001.5 model. There aren't any major differences, but there are a few and the intake is one of them.
