Greetings from Winterland - Wyoming!

I currently have a 2004 Audi A6 2.7T S-Line with 18 rims on. Need winter tires and I don't want to spend $250 on a winter tire.

So the question is: Can I put a 16in wheel on My car? The sticker on the rear pass door mentions 215/55/16 as tire size, but nothing about 16 in wheels.

I'm asking 'cause I got different answers from various people saying that I can and cannot. i currently have 321mm Brake Rotors. I bought them from here:

I guess the calipers are HP2s.

I have stock 16"s on my 2.7T and I have the 2.7T big brakes. I think a 16" barrel will clear your brake set-up but you have to make sure the offset is enough for the wheel face to clear face of the calipers. Mine are "scary" close clearances. I've never measured but it is, well really really close.

You do not have the HP2 calipers on your 2004 2.7T S-line. Audi stopped putting them ont he A6 sometime during the 2002 model year. Even if you did have the HP2 calipers, you can fit 16" wheels on your car since the stock wheels in 2000-2002 with the HP2 were 16"

Offset and spoke shape (inside profile) are the key factors. Even with the proper offset, some wheels don't fit over the calieprs. Are you looking for OEM wheels or somehting else?

Thanks for your replies! I got a package on 16s from tire rack with Michelin X-Ice on them. These are the wheels. I hope they fit!
