Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be an adhesive that is/should be on the back of the deflector that adheres to the bottom of the window?

Just recently bought an A6 and the front window got replaced a couple years back. However the bottom rain deflector wasn't attached properly. I looked at my wifes A6 (2000) and hers is help in place with the clips and is impossible to flex or move, unlike mine

I tried using clips but it DOESN'T hold it in place and water will stream down into the cabin filter. It doesn't fit sug enough on the passenger side and keeps poping up

My next step is to use a glue/adhesive to hold it down or take it to a glass shop.
