I have a 1995 Audi A6 (with a new Coil Pack) that will run for 5 minutes then stop. I can wait a couple of hours and it will start and run for 5 more minutes. Any suggestions where to start?

I replaced the Fuel Filter and the car till has the same issures. What next? Would the cat. converter cause the problem?

 

At that point I would look at the fuel pump since you already replaced the filter.

 

Temperature Sensor. Last time mine did this I was told to replace everything from fuel pump to the MAF. Turned out to be the coolant temp sensor. It failed LOW so the ECU thinks its -40 and when the car warmed up after 5-10 mins would shut off due to the coolant and air temp sensors not agreeing.. Wouldnt restart for 2 hours.

Someone else suggested that since the coil pack was misfiring, (2 out of the 6 wasn't working) that may have clogged the catalytic converter. How likely is this? And how do I test for that?

 

A clogged cat would exhibit the problem your seeing but I think it would throw a code of some type. The test would be how quickly it will restart. If it is temp related it would take awhile if it is the cat it would restart in a few minutes.
