I have a 2007 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro that will not come out of park. The key will not come out of the ignition either. I replaced the shift selector and the problem went away for about a week, then came back. Is there anything else I can do? I have 15+ years of experience as a mechanic. Unfortunately I'm not an Audi expert. I replaced the part on my own (it was a pain in my ***!) I also realized my Tiptronic shifting wasn't working after I replaced it. I think I know why but I would like to hear what I should do before I take the center console apart again. Please help!! Thanks

 

You may have knocked the magnets loose
the car may not actually be in park or the tcm may not see it as being in park.

preventing you from removing the key

also check the break switch on the pedal it needs to be actuated
maybe it needs adjustment
