is there any way to get a 99 a6 to have the doors automatically lock when you shift into drive or sumthin? id feel more safe... :D

Vag com is your friend, buy one and you can recode your central locking control module to lock the doors at 15 MPG and unlock when you remove the key.

If you wanna take a road trip down to chicago I can do it for you, but if you know someone at a dealer they may be able to help you out but most are so oblivious about it or simply will not do it. Or perhaps if thre is an INDY shop near you they may let you use it.

With vag com you can recode your control modules in your car, like the auto trans or the motion sensors. You can also perform your own diagnostics isntead of paying the dealer $100.

Go on ebay and look for any OBD II cable that will connect to USB and buy it I boguht mine for $20. It then usually comes with the free version of vag com. You don't need the full version of vag com but it is nice to have. more info can be found at ross tech .com
