I have a 1999 A6 Quattro and I was researching which air filter to purchase, opinions on the best kind?

Stick with stock. Most aftermarket filters let too much dirt/oil through.

i've been ok w/ my K&N panel air filter, no MAF problems or anything

MANN should be the stock filter.

Dealers price could be 2x up....
