Welcome to Audi Forums TattooBoy!

Since you're new... check out the START HERE! (click this link) link to get a rundown of the lingo/vocab here at audiforums.

Then be sure to search the archives when you have a question. Chances are the question has been asked before (probably several times) and the archives will have plenty of information to answer your question. If you still need answers, please feel free to ask questions.

Don't feel intimidated; we are all a bunch of pretty cool guys (and gals). Feel free to post advice, comments, ideas, suggestions, and even pics.
================================================== ==========================================

The technology is so new to Audi, I don't know if anyone here knows anything on those lines yet.
Maybe someone will respond.
I'd consider going to Audi with your issue and see what they offer for help.
Otherwise, try VW Vortex. The forum their is replete with thousands of chatters, but some of them are ahead of technology and may very well be able to help. It will be up to you to navigate through the maze of choices at that site to find the right place for your question, but you may get lucky.
Nevertheless, glad to have you here.
Hope you find our site useful.

When you do resolve the issue be sure to post it here as a follow up so it will be recorded in the archives.

OK - thanks

Ive "heard" that there are similar problems with BMWs and that this (bizarrly as it sounds) can be solved by deleting all the text messages (inbox and sent) !!!!!

Im picking the car up this afternoon - so ill let you know if it works

Cheers again

Clearing the messages in your texts doesnt work (as has been suggested in many places) and my old T610 wont play ball either !

Spoke to Audi again and apparently there are different types of Bluetooth (?!?) and the cars software may need updating to ensure the latest compatability (sounds like a bit of a fob off - nut im going along with it).

So anyhows the cars going in Friday to have its software checked and if necessary upgraded.

Apparently Audi are aware of incompatability isues with certain phones (including Sony Ericsson )

Ill let you know

RE: BlueTooth Problems with S700i

I just picked up my 2005 A6 3.2 a couple of weeks ago. I asked the dealer what phones are compatible with the Audi bluetooth and he provided a list of models from Motorola, Siemens and Sony Ericsson (including the 700i). I ending up getting the Motorola V710 since its was the only one offered by my carrier Verizon. In the short time I have been using the phone with the car, performance has been flawless with both incoming and outgoing calls. Not sure how old your 700i is but it might be worth it to drive your car to your wireless carrier's store and see if there is an issue with your particular phone.

The S-E S700i is one of the SOny's newest phones. It should work well with the Audi bluetooth. The line your dealer gave you about different bluetooths is exactly that... a line. And very false. I try to remove any current connection attempts (pins, saved bluetooth devices, etc.) from your phone. Once you make sure that your phone actually has bluetooth enabled, then try to let the S700i again find the Audi bluetooth. Maybe it's comething as simple as turning bluetooth on and off to reset it. I hope you get it to work soon, because it's an awesome feature. Also, read the manual to see if it mentions anything.....

It's no line of bull. Certain phones are not compatible with the bluetooth. Audi has a list of approved phones. There is also a list compiled from users on audiworld in the A6 forum.

RE: BlueTooth Problems with S700i

Jest, if you read my post I said that there is no such thing as different bluetooths. I made no mention of compatible phones. Yes there are phones that Audi has checked for compatibility and thus verifies that they work correctly with Audi's bluetooth feature. If you'll look on the list, the Sony S700i is on the list of just such compatible phones. My point in the post was that the dealer was giving him a false line as to why his phone was not working. Probably in hopes of shoving him off to become someone else's problem.

RE: BlueTooth Problems with S700i

I just bought the Motorola V710 and got it work without any problem...the car and phone recognized each other immediately and I could dial and connect with the voice activation system easily. That being said, I've tried and tried to get the car to "read" the phone book in the cell phone and it just won't. I've tried many different approaches, from "import" to creating a directory entry for the phone contacts, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
