bolts, bolts, bolts, BOLTS
OK so I'm starting to consider using a jack hammer on my drive shaft bolts. These horribly over tightened bolts are all stripping. Just like my heat shield bolts, which I had to drill out btw. I've tried easy out, hitting the 8m triple square into them, and hitting a larger hex into it. but for all of these methods the exhaust gets into the way, or the bottom of the car does. These bolts have begun haunting me, I can't even focus in school because all I can think about is those 8 bolts. In fact the other day I thought I saw a pair of the bolts drilled into my wall, if this keeps up I might need a stripped head bolt exorcism. These bolts are the ONE thing stopping me from getting my engine out, and from returning this engine lift which is beginning to cost much more mullah than I had planned. How do I get these MOTHER#$*#$#$*%^&$&*$&%*@$ bolts out?? I still would not mind drilling these ones out but it takes so long my arms begin to fall off. Is there drill bits I can get that will drill much faster? I appreciate ANY help!
Sears? For tools? That's how you get stripped bolts in the first place.
Heat? On a driveshaft? That's how you end up buying a new driveshaft.
Working on a car? That's how you wind up spending more money than planned!!!
If you don't want to or can't drill out the bolts, get an angle head die grinder and a grinding disk (or 10) and grind the heads off the bolts. It will still be time consuming but it will work in places you can't get a drill bit into. If you want to drill, be sure to use cutting/tapping fluid and buy the expensive drill bits, not the cheap set from Sears. Those are grade 8 bolts and the steel is hard as hell and tough to drill which is why you might be better off grinding the heads off. Drilling, with proper tools and fluid, should be faster, though.
Good luck,
Bob

WD-40 ?? = Old school stuff
Get PB Blaster - lots better.
Since you already screwed up the bolt heads it is too late for chemicals.
Time for a real tool - the grinder to remove the heads and go frome there.
BTW - What do you mean by easy out. I thought an easy out required that you drill a hole in the remains of a snapped off bolt to remove it. I never heard of using it while the head was still on the bolt.
Ps Why not remove the exhaust?

alright thanks guys, I guess I will just go for the drilling and if that doesnt work then ill try the grinder. and I just so happen to love sears, I have a huge set of cheap *** tools, I don't care, they have been working perfectly for these last two years all for only $40 bucks! and yes an easy out can be used on any screw whether or not it has a head, works great. but thanks again for all the help guys.
