A/C Problems

A/C Problems
Last year I bought '99 a6 Quattro and for some reason A/C would only blow hot air. The engine doesn’t heat up or anything, and the heating in the car works great. But, even if I don’t have the A/C on, I am still getting hot air no matter how low do I set the temperature. Sometimes the regular fan is a little cooler, but only when the outside temperature is low and A/C will still blow hot air. I tried recharging it, but it didn’t help at all. Any suggestions to what could be wrong...

RE: A/C Problems
Im confused, you say the engine doesn't heat up, but you get hot air out of the vents? You can't have both of those, does your temp gauge from the engine reach the middle and stay there?
As for the A/C, Im gonna need the fault codes, to read the codes in the A/C system you need a VAG COM www.ross-tech.com which is a diagnostic software that enables you to use your lap top to pull fault codes and log data. Other than that you need a set of manifold gauges (which you can't get) to diagnose the system pressures.
