Caliper carrier binding on outside edge of rotor
Hello, Thank you for considering my question.
My son has a 99 A6 Quattro. I am replacing pads and rotors around.
The right rear spindle knuckle seems to have a lower carrier ear bent. (photo)
Obviously, this condition is causing the rotor (even the existing one) to bind on the top outside of the carrier.
1) Could I have bent the ear by drawing the wheel down (if the rotor was ****-eyed) ? (didn't know I was that strong
2) Is it cast iron, or steel ?
3) Most importantly, can I heat it ?? To bend it back.
I also attached a photo of the left side.
Thank you for helping me.
