calling on 00-04 2.7T 6MT's
I have been back and forth with multiple distributors of the oil breather system for our cars. I have not found the answer I am looking for. Long story won't get into it now.
Apparently, there are seperate systems for each the manual and the automatic. I would mainly prefer input from the eariler 2001 6 MT cars since that criteria is best suited for my survey. Which does your system look like? Number 1 or number 2? I currently have #2, but everyone (ECS Tuning, Willow Grove Audi Dealership) is telling me I should have set-up #1. #1 [The main breather is for the angled Silver Y-pipe and has an exposed vacuum nipple on top of the five way valve] http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/894/breather2ev6.jpg #2 [The main breather is for the straight out Silver Y-pipe and has no nipple off the top of the five way splitter valve.] http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/665/breather1yc5.jpg Your time and is greatly appreciate Thanks E |

Conclusion...
For future member reference My current hose assembly is clogged and leaking. I ordered the only one listed for the manual trans from ECS. Only, after trying to install the new one, did I notice that it was completly different. I called both ECS and my Dealership to confirm that I did indeed order/have the correct spyder hose assembly for my car. I even went to the dealer w/ new part in hand to compare w/ what the parts department had listed for my particular VIN. Sure enough, they concurred w/ ECS Tuning that I did in fact have the right part. I just figured you would have to hack it up to make it work, but that didn't make much sense. So...only after checking here http://www.audipartstore.com/catalog...4965328%2B1574 did I discover that there were TWO spyder hose assemblies or breather hose assemblies. Thanks for all your insight guys, greatly appreciated. |
