Default Cam Seal replacement access

Guys

About 6 months ago i had my Valve Cover gaskets replaced by a local indie.

Now i have an oil leak from the Cam at the front on the passenger side, when i asked the Indie if these were replaced, he said the Cam Caps were but not the seals as they weren't part of the Audi kit? And the Caps are at the back?

He now says to replace the seals he has to take the front off as though it was going to be a Timing Belt change.

Is this true? Are the Cam seals not replaced with a Valve cover job. I note the Blau Kit comes with them.

cheers

Front cam seals require timing belt removal. Rear ones don't.

Its hard to tell what you're asking. If the mechanic isn't talking about the cam adjuster seals then what you have left is the cam plugs at the back of the head (easy to change) and the front cam seals (difficult to replace) To get the front cam seals out the cam sprockets need to come off, to do that he would need to put the front end in service postion yes.

Thanks Guys

Just wanted to confirm he wasn't messing me around, yes it is the front cam seals.

Appreciate the input.
