SO my hood wont open again, its the same problem I had last night, the pull tab is stuck up behind the grill. Except now its much higher and I cant pry it down with anything. Is there any way I can remove the front grill without damaging it?

No You'll need to push the tab back and see if you can get it to drop so it can be pulled out. It is connected to the safety part of the latch.

 

Which year A6? You may be able to remove the lower grill from below and then remove the front bumper and trim.

 

Its a 2000, but I solved the problem already. My friend took a die grinder and basically made the existing notch in the grill taller, which freed the pull tab and hopefully eliminated any future possibilities of it catching up there again. Thansk for the input guys.
