can you do a tranny flush on a 2000 a6 4.2?

Hey guys,
is it posibble to do a pressure flush on the tranny of a 4.2 a6 or is it just a basic drain and fill. the transmission guy says that on some of these cars there isn't a cooler line to hook up to so a flush could not bedone. (he has not looked at my car yet) Also how many gallons of tranny fluid is needed for a flush?

I wouldn't flush. Heard too many horror stories.

If you are replacing the fluid and the filter, it takes about 5 to 6 quarts.

You should really do a drain and fill. As you really should replace the trans filter. To drain the trans you will see bolts in the trans pan. to refill remove the large Allen bolt and fill the trans until fluid comes back over the tube. Don't try to over fill because you are filling the trans that is cold with cold fluid. When the fluid heats up the fluid volume will increase.
