Default Car won't start

What are some of the possibilities that can cause your car not to start? I am running out of idea and my mechanic cant even figured that out either. It started with when I got stuck in the snow and I stepped on gas really hard to try to get out, once I got out, I notice that I lost power on acceleration. After one week of really slow acceleration, even to 20mph, my car finally just died, will not start. Mechanic couldn't figure out what it is after 3 weeks of being in the shop. I don't want to take it to the dealer, but that seem to be where I might heading next. Anyone has any idea or suggestion?

What does it do?
There are only a few things to look at. Gas -spark -timing - battery power for the starter.
check the frame to motor ground - don't just look at the wire remove both ends and clean the area before replacing it.

The engine codes scream timing problem. Before cranking again, check that they pulleys are where they are meant to be - search for timing belt replacement procedure and you will find what you need to know. Accuracy is not so important so don't sweat not having the tools - you just need to make sure the holes in the cam pulley plates are in a horizontal plane when your crank pulley is a TDC on no.1 (line notch with pointer on cover).

Transmission controller might have had a bath? Is it under the seat on the A6?

Thank for your help everyone. I took the car to mechanic he said the timing belt is fine, but then again, this is the mechanic that can't even figure out what's wrong with my car after 3 weeks. Is there anyway I can check the timing without taking the whole front bumper off?

Yes, just pop the covers so you can see the cam pulleys, use a long ratchet or torque wrench and a 22mm? 12 point socket on the crankshaft bolt to turn clockwise until the crank pulley is at TDC - see the write-ups to find out more. You will then be looking for the 4 holes in the cam plates (2 in each) to be in a perfect horizontal line. Use a piece of string to make sure they all line up.

I wouldn't worry about the rediness codes until you get it running. The cam position sensor codes would tell me to physically check the timing belt and then replace the cam position sensor.

I would get the vehicle to a mechanic that cares about your problem and knows something about Audis.

Based on the scan data there seems to be 2 possible problems. 1.) There really is a timing belt problem. , or, 2.) Your TCM is fried. The one code "Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low" is a good indication. The other codes basically say "I (the TCM) do not know what is going on" and therefore the engine will shut down because it doesn't want to damage itself.

I would bet you have a failure of some part of that module, either wiring (the low voltage could be why the TCM reports that it has an implausible signal) or the TCM itself.

Thank for all the great advice, seem like everyone narrow down to two possible problems, so I am going to focus on the timing belt and the transmission control module. I hope it just a short fuse somewhere on the TCM because I would hate to go to the dealer to find out the price for replacing it. Gonna go get voltage meter and test everything out.
