Center console display partly not showing.
Hi Everyone,
Suddenly last night the display in the center console (where it shows the gears info, radio info, etc...) was partially gone. All I can see is the gears information.
When I start the car, everything is fine. The display says to step on teh brake and then put it into drive. There after when I put into drive, it also displayed OK, but after that the display was totally gone except the gears information. I don't know if that display is divided into different sections or its all one display. I need help trying to figure out the issue.
Please help!! Any reason why just top part of the display went off????

Hi,
I am having a similar problem to a lesser extent. The outside temperature reading is not quite displaying the numbers correctly. I have checked with the service agent. Apparently these problems can sometimes just be isolated to a small area, or they can develop to affect a large area of the consol display.
The fix requires the consol to be removed and sent away for diagnosis and repair. I don't think it is something you can fix yourself.

Sometimes the display will start to dispaly with uneven brightness or sections will go blank, usually that means the unit is going bad.
Look at the wiper control stick, about 1/2 inch from the tip, on the bottom you may find a rubber square, that turns the display off for night driving, I think you press it quickly. If you press and hold it, it will reset whatever measurement is on display, like the average gas mileage. Double check your manual it may vary by year, but I am sure there is some way to turn the display off and on.
