my chair doesn't move forward or back... it can move up and down and it reclines. The dealer said: "it is most probably a motor, since there is a separate motor for each of the movements" however he was real sketchy and wouldn't give me a price for the motor with installation... he of course said: "i have to see it first". I've been there before; this is where they hold my car in their shop find some other **** wrong with it... and won't let me have it back until i pay for their common sense diagnosis... whereby i pay to get it out of the garage... and leave defeated, more broke and with my car still not fixed.

at any rate, does anyone know what the said motor should cost with installation?

and is it the kind of thing i can take to an indy shop?

 

The guy might be right about the motor but I would check out the fuses and switch first.

My 89 200QT with350K, 88 90Q, 96 A6 or 97 A6Q Avant never had seat motor problems, so I didn't have to even think about it. I am wondering if you have something stuck under the seat or in the seat track.... Just a thought...
