Default Changing my A6 for a RS6, some questions

Hi everyone, A close friend of mine is selling me his 2003 RS6, he just bought a brand new Ferrari F430, lucky him jejejej, and I have a couple of questions regarding the car, I drove it and it runs like a beast, he's closing the deal for $26,000, the car has 6,200 miles, so its practically new, the instrument cluster has a problem on the display, its all screwed up. so Thats probably about $600. else that, car is brand new, interiors are spotless everything is all good. I trust my friend cause we been like brothers for a long time. I want to know, are RS6 parts really expensive, cause I have an A6 2000 30v and Ive done a lot of work on it. and parts aren't that expensive, is the RS6 a different story???

Thanks
Rene.

Forgive me for not answering your question. Just posting to show my jealousy of your future RS6. Congrats.

The R6 universe is small. I doubt there are many on this board that have significant experience with the pricing of its parts. But you are getting a great performer from what I understand. By the way, I drove a F430 a couple of months back and your friend is getting an awesome performer.

Unless the car has been rebuild after having been driven into a wall, you are getting the deal of the century. 26k for a 6,200 mile RS6 is insane. On the order of half the price it should be.

So... Jump on this and start setting money aside for the maintenance fund because your maintenance bills will easily quintuple. This thing needs new spark plugs and timing belts in about 1/4 the time of a normal Audi engine. BIG bucks just to do routine maintenance. At that price I'd jump on it and give up food, but prepare yourself. May want to post on www.audiworld.com to get a second opinion.

Good luck.

Can I ask why he is selling it for that amount of money? I know a guy that just sold his and it had 8,000 miles on it. He got $59k for it and that was even a deal.

maybe that is all the guy owes?

a guy I work with is getting a 1973 Vette convertible with what he called a Nascar engine. It is some built up 350 or something like that. I don't know anything about Nascar so don't start flaming me about the small block engine.

Anyway, the car is also coming w/brand new soft and hard tops. It hasn't been started in 13 years, so the guy has some work ahead of him, but those cars in bad shape sell for $7k, so he is getting a deal.

Some friends who are better off than others sometimes share the wealth.

Of course the guy who started this thread could be full of it, but I have no reason to doubt him. If a guy can afford that ferrari, he can afford to let his friend have the RS6 for $29k.
