Default chipping engine with a tiptronic?

I was planning on chipping my 2001 a6 2.7t with the GIAC chip and later on down the road getting exhaust and intake. I have tried to read up on the topic but havent found if it is completely safe for the transmission? Now a couple of side questions what recomendations do you have for an exhaust and intake? Also if anyone could help me on trying to change my tranny code and how to find out exactly what my code is?

Tranny will be fine. chip it
Exhaust...depends on what you are looking for... how loud or quiet you want it.
Definitely do Piggy pipes for more TQ and HP plus more reliability
Save your $ and don't do an intake.I would recommend NewSouth Powergaskets though when yuo change your auxikiary water pump.
For the Tranny recode, your stock is either 00002 or 01002. Just change the end form 02 to 32.

You pays your money, you takes your chances.

With the Audi Tiptronic, that would be $11,000 worth of chances.

Er....not exactly. It was me being kinda unhelpful. I don't have an A6 or anything with a TIP. I did get to ride in a Stage 2 A6 though and it was REALLY fast. It delivered power without the transmission begging for mercy. Mods were Intake, Exhaust, Fueling and Chip. It was done at a shop by a guy who really knows his stuff. If it was going to burst into flames I'm sure he wouldn't have done the work. If it was my A6 I'd do it and not worry about it. I wouldn't do any 3,500rpm brake stands though. I won't even do that in my S4 cuz I love it tooooo much

For an exhaust i would like a sport sounding exhaust...more like a lower/meaner sound...nothing like a ricer fart can

A good solution for the added power it a tip chip. This is a transmission chip that will help the trans cope with the added power.

There are 2 companies that make them

1 GIAC

2 VAST Performance

I would go with vast as they have 3 option levels to choose from to better suite your needs. while you are there get the Dp's they will help save the turbos while you are at it

Definetely chip it. I got an APR chip and its great. I did it over 40k miles ago and no problems. Although its unpreventable that you'll hit the gas harder don't abuse it. I take care of my baby and always treat it right. I also did a custom exhaust with 3" piping and subtle tips. I also did a custom intake. It does help with breathing but I wouldn't buy a $300 kit as they're a waste. Also get dp's and dv's. All this and you're gonna have a serious performing luxury sedan. It kills me not being able to put k04's so I'm look for a MT. But there's nothing wrong with tweaking ur AT.
