I have them as well, my audi is Ming Blue, but I assumed they were part of the clear bra that was put on (same kind of stuff on hood and side mirrors).

They had some slight swirls in them but they buffed right out with some Meguiars. <--Might make yours clear again... worth a try

same boat....silver...turned yellow..really friggin ugly. I have the clear on the side mirrors but nothing on the front. I wouldnt peel them off unless I knew I was replacing them. Does the buffer really take out the yellow? Anybody tried?

Silver, got 'em, yellowing. Not concerned as dings are worse.

If they could be replaced, I would consider it, but since I only notice when I wash the car, I don't really care.

I have a white A6 and when I bought it I only had the one (very yellowed variety) on the passenger side. I got to looking at it one day and decided to pull it off, because a little discolored paint was going to be better than the obviously yellow "sticker" which is much more obvious on white than any other color.

I didn't use a heat gun, and frankly didn't need to. I just pulled from the top in a fairly quick motion and the adhesive came off with the decal all in one swoop. I did go over the spot with some Goo Gone just for good measure, but I couldn't feel or see any residue even before doing so.

My fear about faded paint was unfounded, because I simply cannot tell where the sticker was. In my opinion they stickers aren't required since rocks are more likely to hit below that point anyway, and since my driver's side never had one and I don't see any evidence of rock chipping I'm not about to run out and replace them.

However - if you are worried about it I have heard they are in fact available from the dealer so you can replace them if you so desire.

Since I only have one and I'm a symetrical kind of guy, that is my plan.

Costner- Thanks for the info.

Update- I peeled off the one remaining sticker with no problems. No goof off or hairdryer required.

Mine looks good as new underneath the sticker. There are absolutely no signs of damage, fading, or discoloration. The sticker I peeled off was yellowed. IMO it looks much better off.
