Just picked up a cable and software but dont know how to ''maximize'' its use. Checkin faults and clearing is pretty self explanitory. But id like to be able to do the various tricks but cant find a good walkthrough for the a6 c5 platform. Anyone on here point me i the right direction?

 

You should get a copy of the BentleyPublishers.com Audi shop manual, for instructions. Also, check the website of your software vendor. Keep complete records of before and after of what you are doing, so that if it is a disaster, you might be able to undo the mistake. Certain undocumented tricks may not be meant for your year, model Audi, engine or transmission. Beware, that newer Audi have an immobilizer, which may disable your car.

 

All that does make a lot of sense. I will check out the bentley's information. I got my software and cable from an online seller, it is 805 vcds but is not registered with ross tech so i cant ask for tech support from them, But i am able to access all the modules and log etc. Have you personally done any of the vag mods to your six? Key fob windows up/down daytime running delete and 24 hours clocks change to 12 hr just to name a few...these are the only ones i want to complete really.Thanks for the reply!
