Default Coding help!!!!!!!

Hi,
Have an A6 2.7T.

Having work done at non dealer that doesn't remove codes.

1. Where can I go to get the brake light off as well as service light? Would an Auto Zone do that or do I need to go to the dealer? Am inOkemos, MIarea or Howell/Brighton, MI.

2. Having tie rod fixed and the shop then said I need to realign ($90).
Is it stupid to realign BEFORE I do the brakes? Would it damage the car to NOT todo it until I do the brakes (only a few weeks apart)?

Thanks in advance for any advice - greatly appreciated!!

You can reset your own service light, check your manual. As far as the brake light I believe autozone will be able to check your codes and clear them (assuming you fixed the problem). You can have the cars alignment done before or after the brakes, it makes no difference. Well it will probably pull to one side or the other if you wait.

Jeff

Edit: the best advice I can give you is get yourself a vag-com, you will never regret it.

Thank you - I appreciate the information.

Have apt. Monday for tie rod and alignment -before the 4th Holiday!

Once brakes are done I will check out Auto Zone.
