cold starts lead to extreme engine smoke
I have a 2000 a6 2.7t that I got 2 months ago, sinceI boughtthe car there has been a problem twice when I startedit& smoke comes out of the tailpipeslike a blown motor. It doesnt make any noises or lack of power and only last a few minutes. I have talked to my local Audi dealer and was told this is normal in turbo cars. Anybody with this problem I needyour help cuz this isnt normal to me.

RE: cold starts lead to extreme engine smoke
I've seen blueish, black smoke be the result of a blown turbo. Don't let that scare you though, as my 2.7t also sometimes has black smoke when I dont start it for a few days, when is the last time you drove it?

it is a blueish white smoke and even smells like an oil leak. I drive the car everyday and there is no patern as to why it does this. the car seems to run good as this is my first audi. Do to the snow around here the vette had to go.

How has the performance of the car been? I'm just wondering because we got a tech call because a woman driving her Jetta TDI was driving when she saw Blueish smoke and she had blown her turbo...It just seized.

RE: cold starts lead to extreme engine smoke
hey..the same happened to me last winter. its a typical problem for audi's when it gets cold to blow either the camshaft tensioner gasket or the gasket for the crankshaft. then oil leaks out of the these seals and is burned by the engine. hopefully it wont get into your cars cabin ventilation.
