Anyone have experience with owning a C6 A6 (more spcifically an 2005/2006)? What are some of the higher costs things to fix out of warranty outside of typical maintence like brakes/rotors, fluid flushes...???

I am thinking of purchsing an 06 a6 fully loaded (except sport package) with 60k for around 21k. Car looks to be in great shape. Should I have audi inspect it and pull the codes? If so, how much would they charge on avg?

I recall Consumer's Reports rating the newer A6s much higher than the C5 model years, for what it's worth. Autozone can pull any CEL codes for free. More importantly, I would have the current owner obtain copies of all the maintenance work and review it for issues and completeness. Call an Audi dealer and ask them the cost of an inspection. Also, try and find a experienced Audi independent and get a quote for an inspection from them, too. If you intend to rely on a dealer for service and repairs, you'll pay 50+% than a good indie shop will charge.

 

Are the valve cover leaks still common? Anyone with any electrical issues?
