Default compression/ leak down test question

I want to do a leak down test for my a6 but I was wondering if any one had links on how to do it yourself.

Do i have to have a particular type of gauge for the 4.2 or will any compression test gauge work?

any help would be great. thanks.

Any Gauge will work.

Why?

Do a comp test first. All cyl's 3-5 revs per (revs must be equal in all cyl's) Compare notes.

For a leak down you pressurize the cylinder with air and see how fast it leaks out. It will leak out, you just don't want it to leak too fast. Google it.
