I recently purchased a cone airfilter off ebay with dimensions that will allow it to fit in my A6 3.2's airbox. My question is, will this make my engine louder at all?

Also, I noticed that there is a second piece after my airbox that looks like a tube to the front of the car to channel air through the grill. Should I leave this piece in place or will removing it add any power?

Oh, and would there be any way of making or buying a custom heat shield?
