Audi A6 The mid-sized Audi A6 model offers more room to the driver and passengers over the A4 line.

Considering leasing 2.4 2007 or 2005 3.2 which would you recommend.(newbie)

To be honest with you, I have no idea about 2.4 since it is not offered here in the US, but the 3.2 is really bullet proof.

I'm not sure about the 2.4 V6 A6 since we don't get that engine option with Quattros but I suspect it's well built regardless..is this car a Quattro? If not then your dealing with a different car--front wheel drive with CVT transmission.

I checked the 2007 car is A6 2.4 Multitronic
Front-wheel drive
7-speed multitronic

The main point is - is it better to get the mover cc earlier 2005 car of are there any special features on the 2007 model that you 'experts' would say go with the less omph cc power....in fact its hard to fiond anywhere to use the extra power in Hong Kong :-)

multitronic, aka CVT is a time bomb waiting to explode. Stay away...

Also they say an Audi without quattro is a VW. I am a true believer.

As for 2005 vs 2007, they are both C6 platform. Nothing extra special on 2007 that I know of.

Historically the CVT is not very reliable. In addition, what makes the Audi driving experience is Quattro.

At one time the CVT had it's problems and might have been considered ticking time bombs but that was several years ago. From what I've read, the Audi CVT with proper scheduled maitenence works reliably without issue.

Cars.com staff, summary of 2007 Audi A4 (I think it's the same CVT as in the 2.4 A6) with CVT:

“Audi's ultra-smooth multitronic CVT works masterfully and subtly. After slight hesitation during takeoff, the car moves ahead with some haste. Passing attempts at low speeds, however, sometimes yield a shortfall of response. You hear a little engine noise while accelerating with the CVT, but not much.”

So the main point is to just keep up with the maintence using good german fluids and parts when needed and as with all Audi's..they repay you with one of the worlds best rides.

Check that 07's service records at Audi Service (you'll need the VIN number)..make sure it's been serviced at all the proper times. The best used Audi's IMO have always been serviced by Audi.
