Default Crunching sound when I turn hard

Hey guys I have noticed that I'll be driving around the city and have to swerve out of the way to avoid some potholes. Sometimes when I swerve I'll hear almost like a crunching sound coming from either my left or right front tire (I think its coming from there). Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Also: Sorry for posting 2 threads on the same day

Your upper control arm bushings are shot, replace all four of them and you're good to go.

Thanks. How much is that gonna cost to buy / install (from a mechanic)?

I see that they're around $8 for one. How much is installation though?

could also be CV joints.

get her in the air and inspect the boots. if they're intact, I'd guess control arms.
if they're town and leaking grease, they are suspect.

torn boots allow dirt and moisture in and grease out. it wreaks havoc on the joints and can cause some crazy sounds. You can get ahold of a reman at your local carquest (or any other parts store) for around $140. if they're asking more, they're ripping you off.

I just had the CV boot replaced so I do not think that is the issue but I will check. I don't think anything is leaking from my car or it would probably show up on my garage floor right? I'm going to take it to the shop and ask them to check it out on monday.

nah, I doubt you would see grease on the floor but if its torn, it usually makes one hell of a mess under the car. When I bought mine, the outer front right boot was torn and the inside of that wheel had a 1/8 inch thick coating of grease covering the paint.

Hmm well they replaced the CV Boot so I hope that's not the issue. I'll tell them to check on the bushings / control arms.

I took it to a shop after I bought it and they replaced a few things so I'm assuming if anything was wrong under there they would have saw it. I'm going to go with a list of what it could be and tell them the sound I'm hearing.

Tell them to check?
Control Arms
upper control arm bushings
CV joints?

By the way the sound sounds like its coming from near the wheels, not under the car but it could just be me.

Once again thanks for all the help guys. Hopefully when I learn more about cars in general I can start helping people out here instead of always asking for help

Yea I'm still very young so I have a lot to learn. I'm actually very fortunate with this car though as my mom has my back on all of the repairs which I'm very happy about and I wouldn't own an Audi if that wasn't the case.
