I have an A6 - 99 - with the dash lights not working - the Speedo/tach areais working, but the dimmer, the stereo, ac controls, etc are not illuminating - nada. I turned the lights on one night and they blinked, and poof. they were gone. I checked some of the obvious fuses, but is therea secret trick? Thanks in advance!

 

It would help to know what fuses you checked. First start with your "obvious" fuses as in dash lighting & accessories. If that's not it, check your larger circuit fuses.

 

Honestly, the fuses were the ones labled interior lights. What I may try next is a fuse by fuse check to see where and if there is another issue. Old fashioned deductive reasoning... We'll see how that works.
