Default Determing either to sell or repair my Audi-need help

I have a 2003 audi A6 Quattro 2.7L. I currently need to replace an ABS sensor as well as the torque converter as the torque converter solenoid code has shown its ugly head. I currently have 188k miles on it, I drive about 120 miles roundtrip a day for my commute. I have an estimate from AAMCO to replace the troque converter, including labor, for $580. Rebuilding the transmission is another 1400. I have no problem doing this if I can expect to get another 100K+out of this car. Oil changes have been done between 5K~10K miles with mobile 1 synthetic oil. My timing belt was changed at 110K and secondary water pumped failed and was replace at 125K. Alternator was just replaced. My question is, is this car worth spending 2k on to get fixed and what else can I expect to fail on this car? I am somewhat mechanically inclined, but this engine appears to be quite complex and so far I have just changed out coil packs, plugs, filters and other basic stuff. I have a fairly complete set of tools at home as well. If the car is worth it, is there anyone else on this forum who would like to give a quote to work on it? I live in the southern california area, zip code is 91750. Would not have to be a rush job as I have a mustang to currently drive. But I do miss the creature comfort of the Audi. Please let me know. Thank you.
Oh, my mass air flow sensor needs replacing as well.

If you like the car and it is in good condition, I would fix it. I would be happy if I got an additional 20,000 miles (as that puts the repair cost per mile at $0.10 which is as cheap as you can get) without another large expense. But, yes, you should be able to get 250,000 to 300,000 out of it.

Good luck,

Bob

is there anything else I should look out for as far as repairs go. The only reason I am looking at this is because this car is paid off in less than 8 payments and I would be debt free on car notes again. The turbos have not been replaced, is there anyway I can pull them out or bypass them when they fail. I can cahnge turbos, but am not comfortable with dropping the engine out of this car. Thank you again.

Loose it. Your going to put 2K into it than another problem will pop up and another and another and cost you another 2K and you'll be pissed. 188K is awsome. Time to get another car.

I agree with Bob Martin -- you can do the math --

Buy another unknown vehicle for whatever or put $2,000 into this vehicle. If you assume a payment would be $200 per month for another vehicle all you need to do is get 10 months out of the Audi to break even -
you do 120 miles per day or 600 miles per week - that is 2400 miles a month - 24,000 in 10 months - in 10 months you will have 212 miles on it -

250 or 300 K is easy to get out of an Audi and long distance driving is easy on a vehicle -

my current A6 is at 227K and increasing daily - my previous 89 200QT went to 350K and was still going strong when I switched vehicles - My daughter's 95 A6 went to over 200K before someone messed up the body beyond repair.

remember the vehicle is always worth something even if it is not running - I sold the 95 A6 for over $500 to guy that wanted Audi parts. The 200QT went for almost $1000.00

Good to see someone else with high miles on a '03 2.7T. I just turned 146k today and will be at 160k+ by spring. Yes, I worry (obsess?) about the turbos, but everything seems to run fine.

My vote is fix it and keep it. You obviously enjoy the car and highway miles are easy. It's really not much of a risk for only $2k. Let us know when you cross the 200k threshold with those oem turbos.

I tend to agree with Jackmup but it's a close call especially since you know the car so well..you changed timing belts at 110k and it now has 188K..so you'll be needing another TB in say 20K plus waterpump belts, hoses etc to do the job right...right?

so add the next TB and extras cost to the $2000.
